Man Arrested With Backpack Full Of Pot Says He Bought In Bulk Due To Lockdown

A man from Nottinghamshire in England was arrested after he was caught with a huge amount of pot that he claimed he purchased in bulk due to the government-mandated lockdown. The unnamed suspect, who was caught on CCTV with a suspiciously bulging backpack strapped to the front his body, is now facing serious criminal charges.

  1. Once the man was caught on camera, it wasn’t long before police swooped in. They headed to Gritley Mews in The Meadows, where they stopped the man and searched his bag, finding a huge amount of marijuana in a plastic bag. Uh oh!
  2. What would one man need with so much pot? Police were suspicious about why a casual smoker or even a diehard pothead would need with quite so much green. “I’m buying in bulk because you can’t get out because of the lockdown,” the man reportedly told the officers. Sure, sounds legit!
  3. He was arrested for intent to supply. It seems pretty clear that the man didn’t have all this pot for personal use. After all, even a hardcore smoker wouldn’t need that much—it would go dry long before he got to it! He was obviously getting it to sell on. I assume the drugs business is really booming right now, especially with everyone stuck indoors 24/7!
  4. Then again, maybe he does really enjoy a smoke… Of course, we can’t say for certain that the man wasn’t telling the truth. After all, if people are going so far as to stock up on toilet paper and hand sanitizer, you might as well grab as much of other “necessities” as you can, like pot. Maybe he was simply thinking ahead so that he could self-isolate during the lockdown for longer periods without having to go back out to get more? I mean, anything is possible (even if it’s not likely).
