Imagine that you have a super rich friend who has an insane car that you would never normally see in person, let alone get a chance to drive. Then imagine that your friend is so generous and trusts you so much that they allow you to take that car for a spin… and you immediately smash it into a brick wall, completely destroying it. Yes, that sounds like a nightmare, but it actually happened to a $280,000 Lamborghini in Spain.
- This insane crash happened in Spain. Both photos and footage appeared online shortly after the crash, showing the bright green Lamborghini Huracan Performante completely totaled and half sticking out of the wall of an electricity substation in the town of Huelva.
- The driver apparently made a run for it. As you can imagine, crashing a luxury car into a wall would likely make anyone want to crap themselves, and the driver here totally freaked out and ran away from the scene. The police, however, caught up with him at a local hospital, where the driver explained that a friend had lent him the car just before the crash, which took place at around 7 a.m. on August 9, according to Huelva24.
- Both the driver and passenger received only minor injuries. It looks like the Lamborghini took the bulk of the injuries in the crash, as both the driver and passenger were treated for only minor injuries at the Juan Ramon Jimenez Hospital. Lucky escape for them! It’s unclear whether the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol and no further info has been given about what caused the crash.
- The crash cut power to local homes. The local residents were also affected by the crash since the Lamborghini was totaled at a power station, causing power to be lost at several area residences. However, power was restored not long after, according to MailOnline.
