Passing your driving test is a major accomplishment and it certainly isn’t an easy one. It took me two times to pass my permit test and three times to actually get my license, so I know this first-hand. However, I feel like once you start getting into the double digits of failures, it might be time to face the fact that driving’s not for you. Case in point: a 50-year-old Polish man who literally failed his permit test, also known as the driving theory test, a whopping 192 times.
- One hundred and ninety-two times, people! The unnamed man from Piotrków Trybunalski has apparently been trying to pass his theory test for the past 17 years, according to Unilad. What the hell was he doing all that time?! Notes from Poland says there’s no limit on how many times a person can take the theory test (which they need to pass before getting to the physical driving test), but come on!
- He’s spent so much time and money on these tests. As you probably know, taking your written and physical driving tests isn’t cheap, and the costs for this man and his 192 fails have really mounted. According to reports, he’s spent nearly 6,000 złoty ($1,538) to take these tests over and over.
- To be fair, it seems like the pass rate in Poland isn’t all that high. It’s estimated that the pass rate on the written test is 50-60% while only 40% of people pass their practical driving test on the first go. Of course, most of the people who fail manage to get through after a bit more studying and a few more tries, but not this guy!
- Something tells me this guy won’t be giving up anytime soon. I mean, if you’ve come this far, you might as well keep on going I suppose? You never know, he may get lucky. I would just never want to be on the road with him!
