Man Left Feeling Emotional After Spotting Dad Who Passed Away 7 Years Earlier On Google Street View Google

A Japanese man was left feeling incredibly emotional after spotting his father on Google Street View. Twitter user @teacherufo was messing around online when he decided to use Google Street View to see what his parents’ house looked like on the service. However, he never imagined he would end up zooming past his late father when doing so.

  1. His father passed away 7 years prior. Sharing his story on Twitter, he wrote, “I saw my father who has passed away seven years ago. My father must have been waiting for my mother to return home. My father was a quiet but kind man, I hope that Google Earth doesn’t update the photo for this place.”
  2. It must have been so heartwarming to see his father. Though it will likely have been painful as well, being able to see his father after so long must have been quite a shock and made him remember the love and care they shared. I can’t even imagine what that must have felt like.
  3. Sadly, it’s likely the picture will be replaced eventually. Once Google deems the photo too old to be relevant or no longer accurate – say, if an additional building is constructed nearby or something else majorly changes – it will likely be removed and changed to a newer one in which OP’s father will not be seen. However, he’s there for now, and it’s amazing that OP discovered him.
  4. Technology makes these things possible. It’s strange to think just what a massive role technology plays in our lives. While many complain that it’s “ruining” society, it also has so many positives, like making it possible for this man to see his father one more time when he never would have expected it. That’s pretty amazing.
