An Italian man sadly plummeted to his death from a cliff only moments after snapping a selfie with his girlfriend. Andrea Mazzetto and Sara Bragante were out for a hike in Rotzo when the 30-year-old dropped his phone and tried to retrieve it, leading to a 200-meter fall to the bottom of the cliff.

- A rescue mission kicked off pretty much immediately. As soon as authorities became aware of Mazzetto’s fall, two helicopters and a team of firefighters sprung into action. Unfortunately, by the time rescuers were able to reach him, Mazzetto had died.
- Bragante shared the couple’s final photo on her Instagram together. “Our cursed last photo together,” she wrote, resharing the post from Mazzetto’s own stories. “You will always be with me, my little bear.”
- Mazzetto was much-loved and lived an active life. According to local reports, he was a fitness enthusiast and entrepreneur. He and Bragante lived together in Rovigo. As one of his friends described him: “He was sunny, generous, and with a great desire to live.”
- Sadly, this is not the first time something like this has happened. While everyone wants to capture beautiful sights to preserve forever, doing so can be dangerous. Just last year, an influencer at Hong Kong’s Ha Pak Lai park fell 16 feet from a waterfall while taking photos. Sophia Cheung, 32, sadly passed away from her injuries.
Andrea Mazzetto was just 30 when he fell to his death in Italy, proving that #selfies — and #cellphones — can be hazardous to your health & even potentially lethal, sadly; a cautionary tale…https://t.co/dCrtvnfv0r
