Man Who Pretended To Be Dead For 321 Days Gets CSI Acting Role

A man who played “un-alive” on TikTok for 321 days managed to get cast as a dead body on “CSI: Vegas.” Josh Nalley would upload a video of himself to the site every day, with each clip showing him pretending to be dead in random places, from his backyard to the parking lot in front of CBS headquarters. He hoped that by showcasing his impressive skills, he would be able to bag a coveted role on TV. As it turned out, his plan came to fruition in just under a year.

“CSI: Vegas” got in touch with Nalley after seeing his viral videos and offered him the opportunity to fly out to Nevada from his native Kentucky to play a dead body on an episode of the show. Despite having no real acting experience, he managed to make it work.

“I don’t like speaking on camera, but I can lie there and act like I am dead pretty easily,” he told the Courier Journal. “Having done more than 300 of these posts, I have progressed and gotten better. At first, you could see me breathing, or the fake blood looked really bad. I have gotten rid of using the blood and gotten better at holding my breath.”

Josh Nalley documented his experience filming the show for TikTok, of course. He also revealed that he accidentally ruined a shot by leaving his phone on and getting a call from a telemarketer while filming. Oops!

Filming “CSI” was a dream come true for Josh Nalley, and now he has a new goal in mind. Since his episode aired, Nalley has started posting videos of himself playing dead again on TikTok, jokingly suggesting that the show should find out why his character died (and perhaps bring him back to reprise his “role”). However, he’ll settle for more TV or movie offers.

Nalley is currently on day 210 of playing dead in random places, waiting for another big break to come his way. To be honest, with his level of dedication, it feels like it won’t be long until that happens.
