Man Wearing Yellow Dress Steals School Bus And Rams Wife’s House With Heavy Machinery

A Washington man wearing a yellow dress was arrested last week for stealing a school bus and slamming a front-end loader into the home he lived in with his estranged wife. The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release that 39-year-old Andrew S. Loudon drove off in a yellow bus owned by Osprey Rafting and refused to stop when pursued by police. While they had to abandon the chase for safety reasons, things only escalated from there.

  1. The law prevented authorities from continuing the chase. New police reform laws in Washington state dictated that officers are no longer allowed to chase a fleeing vehicle unless they believe a serious felony occurred. While Douglas County deputies picked up the chase through Wenatchee, they also eventually had to let Loudon go.
  2. The following day, Loudon was taken into custody. The sheriff’s office was notificed that the driver of the bus had been arrested. He was identified largely because he was wearing the same yellow dress as the day before, only this time he’d slammed a front-loader into his home. Thankfully, his wife had left the home when she heard he was in the area.
  3. The home partially collapsed from the collision. Authorities shared photos from the crash that showed the front-loader sitting in front of the home, which had partially collapsed from the impact. There was also a car that hd flipped into the house during the incident.
  4. Loudon was sent to a psychiatric facility. According to the sheriff’s office, Loudon was released Saturday morning from Western State Hospital. He was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, attempting to elude a police vehicle, and first-degree malicious mischief/domestic violence.
