Nintendo has announced a brand new updated version of Mario Kart for the Switch that allows players to virtually race around their own homes. Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit will turn your living room, bedroom, or wherever else you’re playing into an actual race circuit, making the game even more fun than the original if that was even possible.
- How does this technology even work? As per Nintendo, once you set up Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit in your house, you’re good to go. “The physical kart responds to boosts in-game and in the real world, stops when hit with an item and can be affected in different ways depending on the race,” the description reads.
- You can make all kinds of courses! “Players place gates to create a custom course layout in their home, where the only limit is their imagination. Race against Koopalings in Grand Prix, unlock a variety of course customizations and costumes for Mario or Luigi, and play with up to four players in local multiplayer mode,” the description continued. That means once you get bored with one course, you can make a whole new one, basically ensuring endless gameplay.
- The game will be available in two different varieties. You can either get the Mario version or Luigi version depending on your favorite character. I feel like the Mario version might be more popular, but I know my Luigi lovers are out there!!
- Sadly, it’s not out just yet! Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit won’t be available until October 16, which means there’s a little over a month to wait before you can get your hands on it. When it is out, it’ll cost $99, which is well worth the price of admission, so to speak, especially for a game that will be a hit with the whole family.
