Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the hit NBC sitcom “Friends,” died on Saturday, October 28 at the age of 54. Capt. Scot Williams of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide division confirmed that the star had passed away but insisted that there was no suggestion of foul play and that a cause of death had yet to be determined, per The New York Times. However, separate reports stated that Perry had died by drowning in a jacuzzi at his home.

If that is the case, it makes Perry’s final Instagram post, which he put up six days before his death, incredibly eerie.

Matthew Perry’s final Instagram post showed him enjoying a soak session in a jacuzzi.

In the photo, Perry can be seen with headphones on, relaxing in an outdoor jacuzzi at night with a twinkling skyline in the background. He was clearly relaxed and at peace,

“Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I’m Mattman,” he captioned the post.

Needless to say, in light of how he reportedly died, this post has struck a harrowing chord with fans and friends of Perry’s.

Perry’s friends and fellow celebs paid tribute to the actor on social media

From Mira Sorvino (who did a guest stint on “Friends” back in the day) to Selma Blair, Rosie O’Donnell, and Michael Rappaport, those who knew and loved Matthew Perry spoke out on social media to express their deep sadness at his loss.

“Rest in peace @MatthewPerry. Always so nice, cool, chill & talented,” Rappaport posted on X, formerly Twitter. “You are a part of American Culture and will live on forever.”
