All animals are unique and special in their own way, but sometimes a precious little creature comes along that’s so different and exceptional that you can’t help but fall in love with it. That’s certainly the case with Milkshake the Pug, one of only 100 pink pugs in the world!
- Milkshake’s owner Maria described meeting the pup as love at first sight. Maria, a 33-year-old from London, noticed Milkshake out of all the dogs in his litter and knew immediately that she wanted to bring him home. That’s exactly what she did when he was 10 weeks old, and now they’ve been together for over a year (he’s 17 months old now).
- He was even rarer back then. According to Maria, there were only 30 pink pugs in the world when she first met Milkshake. “I had never even heard of pink pugs before, but when I went to the breeder and spotted Milkshake I thought he was adorable, and knew I had to have him,” she said. “They’re very rare. At the time, I think Milkshake was one of 30 in the world but there have been a few litters. There’s no more than 100 worldwide.”
- Don’t worry, he doesn’t have any health problems. While pink pugs are the result of a lack of pigmentation due to having an albino dog somewhere in the dog’s history, Maria is clear about Milkshake’s health: it’s just fine! “He’s not actually albino, he just has the coloring so he doesn’t suffer from any sight loss or hearing loss. He’s a happy healthy boy,” she explained.
- These days, Milkshake is Instagram famous! He has more than 55,000 followers on Instagram and even has his own website where he reviews pet clothing and accessories and continues to be his adorable self.
- Milkshake is one spoiled pup. Not only does he get to go with Maria to work but he also gets pampered at the puppy spa every month. Plus, he pretty much gets his own amazing photoshoots on a daily basis, so he’s living his best life!
