Model Claims She Was Uninvited From Friend’s Wedding For Looking ‘Too Good’ In Her Dress

A model has claimed that her friend uninvited her from her wedding because she looked “too good” in the dress she planned to wear to the ceremony. The woman, named Alena, said her friend picked the dress out for her but wasn’t prepared for how amazing Alena was going to look in it. Well, that sucks!

  1. Alena shared the struggle with her TikTok followers. “My close friend uninvited me to her wedding because she thought I looked too good in the dress SHE chose for me,” she captioned the video. So far, more than six million people have witnessed her plight and nearly two million people have liked it.
  2. People seemed to support Alena in the comments. While social media is generally full of haters, many people sympathized with Alena. “SHE’S the one who chose the dress so she could’ve just asked you to change your dress instead of rudely uninviting you,” one person wrote. Another added: “As your friend, she should want you to look beautiful. If she was secure and confident, she wouldn’t feel intimidated at her own wedding. So sad.”
  3. However, some people did think Alena could have helped her friend out. One person said that Alena handled the situation all wrong and that she should have backed down and changed her dress to make her friend feel more secure. “Yes you look great in it… but honestly I understand your friend… I would respect it and pick another dress… it’s her day and mean to outshine her,” they wrote. However, Alena wasn’t having it. “I get what you mean but she uninvited me right before the wedding so there wasn’t even time to get a new one I just stayed home…” she replied.
  4. This kind of thing isn’t all that uncommon. Perhaps the most unsurprising thing is the number of commenters who shared that they’d been through a very similar experience themselves. “Same. My ‘friend’ since high school didn’t want me in her wedding party because she thought I’d outshine her, insecure much?” one person shared. That’s nuts!
