Mom Insists Thug Son Who Left Girlfriend Permanently Brain Damaged ‘Isn’t A Bad Boy’

A woman has defended her son after he kidnapped his girlfriend and left her brain damaged and unable to walk or speak. Chay Bowskill, 20, threw his 19-year-old girlfriend Angel Lynn into the back of a van driven by his friend, 20-year-old Rocco Sansome, but she fell out as the vehicle was traveling 60 miles an hour down a British highway and suffered horrific injuries. However, Bowskill’s mother Kathy Norris insists her son is “not a bad boy.”

  1. Angel Lynn will never have a normal life again. The kidnap was caught on camera and showed Bowskill violently grabbing Angel “like a rag doll” and carrying her across the road before throwing her into the van. She was later found on the side of the A6 after falling from the vehicle. She suffered from a fractured skull and multiple serious brain injuries as a result. She’s been left without the ability to walk or speak.
  2. Bowskill was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison. He’ll spend his sentence at a young offender institution after being convicted of kidnapping and coercive and controlling behavior. However, the attorney general is said to be reviewing the sentence, which many say was far too lenient given the horrific nature of the crime.
  3. His mother has spoken out in his defense. While it seems pretty clear that Bowskill is anything but a nice young man, Norris is standing by her son. “My son’s not a bad boy but he’s not a saint,” she said. “Everyone is blaming Clay for her injuries but he didn’t cause them. I can’t blame my son for her injuries, I need to protect him and stand by him.” These comments came after her son laughed in the courtroom during his sentencing hearing, proving he has no remorse for what he’s done.
  4. Bowskill’s mother says it’s “so upsetting” what happened to Angel. While she’s supporting her son unreservedly, Kathy also insists she’s wishing Angel well. “Nobody will ever know what really happened that day apart from Angel and because of her injuries she may never be able to tell,” she said. “I just hope that with medical research and science over the coming years something can be done to help repair her brain.”
  5. Of course, Kathy was willing to lie for her son. She was admonished in court for withdrawing her initial statement to police after pressure from her son. As Judge Timothy Spencer QC told Bowskill during sentencing: “Your mother comes out of this with no credit – it was disgraceful conduct with her giving lying evidence in court about Angel and the police. You should be ashamed of your vile and demeaning conduct towards your mother, seeking to get her to perjure herself – because it was you who brought her to this very low ebb.”
  6. Angel’s family has been left devastated by what’s happened to her. Because she cannot walk, talk, or feed herself, she now needs 24-hour care and will never have a normal life. Her father Paddy said in a statement: “Our lives have been changed beyond recognition forever. Angel was so full of life and had such a great future ahead of her. That future has sadly been taken away from her.”
