Mom Accidentally Lists Baby For Sale On Facebook Saying It ‘Needs Gone Today’

A British woman was mortified after accidentally posting her baby for sale on Facebook Marketplace, saying it “needs gone today.” Lucy Battle, from Morley, said she was trying to advertise a sofa she wanted to get rid of but accidentally made the main image on the post’s gallery a photo of her 7-month-old son, Oscar. Given the “needs gone today” caption, this unfortunate mishap was even more hilariously wrong.

Everyone got a good laugh out of it. Commenters on the post immediately pointed out Battle’s error and couldn’t stop laughing, saying that the mistake “made their day.” Some even joined in saying they’d trade their own baby for Battle’s. As one woman said: “Can I swap for a teenager? How is he at washing up?”

It was an innocent and easy mistake to make. As Battle herself told LeedsLive: “I just somehow managed to upload the wrong photo when I was choosing them from my camera roll and unfortunately it was of Oscar! I realized when everyone started commenting and messaging me and then I couldn’t delete it either.” Luckily, it was only a photo of her son!

Yes, someone did actually buy the sofa. One of the messages she received was actually from a buyer, but she did get a whole lot of jokes as well. “It worked out though because one of the messages was someone actually enquiring about the sofa! But most of them were people making jokes about me giving away my son,” she revealed. “I didn’t expect it to go so far!”

Sorry, Oscar’s not for sale. As adorable as he is, he’ll be staying put with his mom. The couch is also sold now, so looks like you’re out of luck.
