A British mom who paid more than $100 for ‘the Grinch’ to visit her two kids at her home was left with serious regrets after he destroyed the house and left her with an extreme mess to clean up. Laura Magill thought it was a great idea to invite the actor to come and see the kids in character, and while the advertisement did state that he would “mess the kids’ beds, have a pillow fight, and put toilet roll around your Christmas tree,” what she got was a whole lot more.

- The Grinch left more than a slight mess. In fact, it seems like he was hell-bent on destroying the whole house. Magill had set up a lovely holiday party full of snacks and treats that ended up all over the floor. She then took to Facebook to voice her dismay about the experience, screenshots of which were shared to Twitter.
- Magill was really not happy. “Every single bit of party food cupcakes threw all over the place tree decorations BROKE!!” she wrote. “Fairy up liquid poured on my kitchen floor eggs smashed and a full bottle of juice poured over my floor and SON!!! Kids new onise [sic] ruined Highly highly DO NOT recommend… mailed and complained no reply. Grinch defo came stole Christmas… never been so disgusted in my life!!!”
- The photos are pretty hilarious. Magill shared some before images of how nicely she’d arranged the holiday spread as well as the after shots showing her son covered in god knows what and crumbs and debris all over her living room floor.
- People had very little sympathy for Magill’s plight. After all, who pays someone more than $100 to come and wreck the house and then gets upset when they follow through? “Imagine going into somebody’s house getting paid £85 and you dash cupcakes and sausage rolls at a 60 inch tv,” one commenter wrote. Another added: “Some bloke dressed as the Grinch literally rocked up, trashed the joint and then got paid for it… this is the best thing ever!”
