Mom Trolled For ‘Inappropriate’ Bikini Pic With 15-Year-Old Son Slams ‘Sexualization’

A popular fitness influencer has slammed trolls who claimed a photo of herself in a bikini with her teenage son was “inappropriate.” Sophie Guidolin, a mom of four, posed with her son in celebration of his 15th birthday, but many commenters weren’t impressed that she was so scantily clad around the boy.

  1. Sophie isn’t pleased with people sexualizing her body and her relationship with her son. Unsurprisingly, she didn’t take well to the commenters who had something negative to say about the photo and she came back to edit the caption on the post to say as much.
  2. There’s literally nothing wrong with wearing a bathing suit around your child. Given that Sophie and her family live in Australia where the weather is hot, hanging around in swimwear all day is pretty much the norm. “When Kai woke up, I was in the pool and yes- in a bikini (as I am most days!!!) I wanted a photo straight away as he wanted to ride his bike and go out riding all day immediately,” she re-captioned the photo. “Do I have a problem wearing a bikini in front of my sons? NO WAY. Why? Because I’m not sexualized to him, nor have I ever been!!! If you have an issue, maybe you should look into why you feel you have to sexualize a woman’s body instead of it simply being a mum and her son at the pool!!!”
  3. She later posted an Instagram Story to say more as the trolling comments obviously bothered her. “I just want to say as well, those who have followed me for a while may remember I posted a bikini workout on the beach that had Kai in it and I got slammed for it,” Sophie stated. “The good thing to mention here is that I wear bikinis in front of my kids because my body is normal. Having a body is normal, having body parts is normal, it’s not sexualized, it’s nothing shameful, and it’s something I reiterate and drive home here with my boys.”
  4. Her kids simply see her as their mom. Her sons see her as a parent, not as some random hot woman to fantasize about, which Sophie was quick to point out. “When they see me in a bikini, they don’t think anything other than ‘Hmm, mum’s tanning, mum’s going to the beach, going for a swim,'” she said. “They don’t see me and be like ‘Oooh what a sexy bum you’ve got.'”

Sophie has left the photo live and isn’t backing down on this one – and I don’t blame her!
