Crazy hair trends tend to be reserved for women, but this time the guys are getting involved in the fun. Plenty of men enjoy grooming their facial hair, trimming their beards and mustaches and even oiling them to keep them looking great. The new thing, however, is turning that hair into monkey tails, and it’s certainly an interesting look.

  1. I’m not sure how practical it is… I doubt you could work in an office or another professional environment with a monkey tail beard and be taken seriously (or keep your job). However, we’re living in COVID-19 times now, which means many of us are regularly working from home. If there’s ever been a good time to try something like this, it’s now.
  2. This isn’t necessarily new. You can find examples of the monkey tail beard, also known as the cat tail beard, online as far back as, say, 2012. However, it seems to be experiencing a bit of a renaissance in 2021, and more and more guys are deciding to give it a go.
  3. Even famous people like the monkey tail beard trend. It was perhaps made most famous by professional baseball player Mike Fiers, who plays for the Oakland Athletics. He wore his with pride during the 2019 season and fans went crazy for it.
  4. It’s not for everyone, but if you’ve got the facial hair for it, why not try it? It’s just fun, and we need more fun right now.
