Let’s be honest – good sex is great at any time of day. But there’s just something about morning sex that makes it a different experience than the nighttime variety. While most of us are probably used to getting freaky once the sun goes down, there are plenty of great reasons to give morning sex a try more often. Believe me, it’s the best.
You won’t mess up your hair.
Or your makeup, or your outfit. When you wake up in the morning, you’re the least put together you’re going to look all day, so why not take advantage of the moment and get your sexy time on? It’s only up from there.
It boosts your immune system.
Sex done in safe and sound ways is an all-around healthy hobby, but having sex in the morning has actually been proven to help boost your immune system by boosting levels of the antibody IgA. Better than your morning green juice? I think so.
Mornings in bed are sleepy, cozy, and have that sort of stripped down quality to them that allows for a lot of intimacy. It’s dreamy, almost. The makeup is off, the teeth are unbrushed, and you guys are still feeling each other. Not to mention the fact that it’s totally light out so there’s not a lot of hiding to do.
You’ll work up an appetite for breakfast.
Burning calories by engaging in sexy activity is great at any time of day, but when you get down right before bed, there’s all the hydrating to do afterwards to get comfortable (is that just me?). When you have sex when you first wake up in the morning, you’re in the perfect position to get up and refuel.
It sets the mood for later encounters.
All kinds of moods can lead into sex at other times of the day (heat, anger, boredom), but in the morning, nothing has happened yet so the stage for playful interaction is totally set. It’s also the perfect time for introducing some new moves you’ve been considering.
Clean-up is a breeze.
Not only does it not matter that you’re messing up your hair before you get out of bed in the morning, but it doesn’t matter that you’re messing up the sheets, either. No one has to sleep in the wet spot if you’re getting out of bed to start the day. Throw the sheets in the washer on your way to work and you’re set.
It helps relieve anxiety.
Ever wake up on a Monday morning still recovering from the weekend and feel the anxiety creeping on about the upcoming week? Sex can help. Research done at the University of Cincinnati found that morning sex in particular can relieve stress for up to seven days. That’ll take care of the whole work week!
You’ll be sober enough to remember it.
Not that all nighttime sex is done from a place of drunkenness, but it happens from time to time. The light of morning on the other hand is about as sober as it gets so you’re going to remember every little detail of the act if you decide to dish about it to your girls later.
It can make you look hotter.
Having an orgasm causes the body to boost the estrogen levels, which can show on your glowing skin in the short term and in your luscious hair over the long term. Those estrogen surges also make you look younger. Get after that glow, girl.
