As far as fizzy drinks go, Mountain Dew has got to be at the top of the list. It’s delicious, refreshing, and also that bizarre shade of neon greenish-yellow that you know can’t be right but that’s super delicious anyway. Well, now they’re upping the ante and will apparently add a Mountain Dew watermelon soda to their permanent range in 2021.
- Who doesn’t like watermelon? While it’s technically a very summery flavor, we can all use a bit of a reminder of carefree summer days all year long. That’s why the leaked materials floating around on Reddit claiming that a watermelon flavored Mountain Dew is headed our way in January 2021 was such great news!
- Mountain Dew Major Melon could be part of the Super Bowl. Everyone knows that the Super Bowl is the time to advertise new products, so no doubt we’ll be seeing this new watermelon soda throughout the big game. Who knows, it might end up being a sponsor for the event! We do know from the leak that the Super Bowl is supporting the launch, which can only be a good thing!
- It’ll be available in a diet version too. Obviously the word “diet” isn’t seen as a positive marketing strategy at the moment so really it’ll be a “Zero Sugar” version of Mountain Dew Major Melon, but whatever. I try to cut back on sugar whenever I can, so if I can enjoy the same delicious flavor of watermelon without the extra calories, I’m all for it.
- It won’t be long before this is headed our way. The great thing is that while January seems far away, it’s totally not – only about four months! Plus, 2020 has been such a terrible year that I think we can all look forward to some positivity and good news in 2021 – not to mention some delicious new food and beverages!
