A 24-year-old Florida woman was arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase in a stolen car. Rachael Lynn Stefancich, from Plant City, was said to be “nearly fully unclothed” when police arrested her on charges of grand theft auto, reckless driving, fleeing and eluding, possession of methamphetamine, and driving with a suspended license, Click Orlando reports. Needless to say, the bizarre incident has captured the attention of local and national media.
- Stefancich drove at speeds up to 110 MPH. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Stefancich was driving a stolen 2009 Cadillac sedan southbound on Interstate 75 in Sumter County. While officers tried to stop her around mile marker 300, Stefancich refused tos top and instead sped up, reaching 110 MPH while breaking several driving rules including passing on the shoulder.
- Highway Patrol had to use the PIT maneuver to stop her. They were finally able to bring Stefancich’s vehicle to a stop around mile marker 285 onto State Road 52. When troopers managed to get her out of the vehicle, she claimed the car belonged to her aunt and she had permission to drive it. However, her license was suspended and the car was indeed stolen.
- Stefancich was discovered with drugs and related paraphernalia. A search of the vehicle found a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine as well as a substance believed to be meth. While it was not mentioned whether or not she seemed under the influence upon her arrest, it’s probably safe to assume given her state of undress as well as the presence of drugs and the fact that she believed a high-speed chase in a stolen car was going to end well that she was.
- This isn’t the only bizarre story of a naked woman in a car that wasn’t hers. Just last week, a woman in Minnesota was found “completely naked” and masturbating in a car she didn’t own. She was also in possession of drugs and was arrested.
