“Netflix and chill” is code for sex. If a guy invites you over to watch Supernatural, don’t expect to actually watch Sam and Dean, because you’re only going to be seeing his ceiling. While there’s nothing wrong with having casual sex with a cutie, some women aren’t interested in the idea. That’s why you should learn all of the telltale signs of a booty call, so that you’re never caught off guard.

  1. He messages you after midnight. If he’s inviting you over after the sun goes down, you should assume it’s a booty call. There aren’t any restaurants open that late, so the nicest thing he can do is treat you to Taco Bell. Of course, that probably won’t even happen, because after he’s done sleeping with you, he’ll expect you to leave.
  2. He makes every conversation sexual. If you try to talk to him about how much you’ve been learning in medical school, and he tells you that he can teach you something special about the human body, he’s only interested in sex. He won’t continue conversations about the important things in your life, because he doesn’t really care about your life. If you’re not talking dirty, you might as well not be talking.
  3. He wants to go straight to your house. If he won’t entertain the thought of going bowling or getting drinks at a bar, then he isn’t interested in going on a date with you. He wants to skip the foreplay and get straight to “the good part.”
  4. He contacts you through Tinder. 99% of Tinder users are only interested in sex. If he swipes right and then asks you to come over to his apartment before he even says hello, it means he finds you attractive and wants to do something about it. If he wanted a real relationship, he’d talk to you a bit first in order to get to know you.
  5. He won’t see a movie in theaters. If he keeps telling you how badly he wants to watch a movie with you, but refuses to go to the actual cinema, then he doesn’t really want to watch a movie. He might as well use the term “Netflix and chill,” because all he’s looking for is sex.
  6. He never stays for long. If he comes over to your house, sleeps with you, and then tells you that he has to leave, you were just a booty call. Why else would he stay for just as much time as he needed to get into your pants, and then head for the door?
  7. He makes plans at the last second. If he wanted to take you out on a real date, he would make plans with you days (or even weeks) ahead of time. If he’s texting you at the last second, then he’s not putting much thought into the invitation. It’s a red flag that suggests he wants sex.
  8. He calls you by a nickname. Calling you by a nickname isn’t always sweet. Sometimes, it’s just a way for him to avoid calling you the wrong name. If he calls you and every other girl he meets “baby,” then he’ll never say the wrong name.
  9. He’s already drunk before he sees you. If all of the words in his text are misspelled and the sentences don’t make much sense, don’t hang out with him unless you’re okay with being a booty call. If he’s dying to see you alone while drunk, he doesn’t want someone to vent to. He wants someone to bang.
  10. He won’t stay the night. It doesn’t matter if he’s half-asleep by the end of the night, because he’s still going to refuse to sleep over your house. If you try to sleep over at his house, then he’ll hand you money for a cab, because he isn’t interested in seeing your pretty face in the morning. That’s something reserved for relationships, and he only wants sex.
