Netflix Confirms ‘The Christmas Chronicles 2’ Starring Kurt Russell And Goldie Hawn Neflix

The Christmas Chronicles is one of the best holiday movies on Netflix. It revolves around brother and sister Kate and Teddy Pierce who come up with a harebrained idea to kidnap Santa, played by Kurt Russell. Their plan unsurprisingly goes awry, but they do end up having an adventure with Old St. Nick to help save Christmas. It sounds amazing, right? Well, get ready, because there’s about to be a sequel!

  1. Netflix confirmed The Christmas Chronicles 2 is on the way. Everyone loved the original so much that the streaming platform was happy to greenlight a second installment. I don’t even care what it’s about, I just want another Christmas Chronicles movie.
  2. Better yet, he’s bringing a special guest with him this time. Goldie Hawn will star alongside Russell as Mrs. Claus in the second movie, which is amazing. She made a brief appearance in the first one, but this time she’s taking on a more central role. In case you weren’t aware, Hawn and Russell have been together in real life for a whopping 35 years now, so it’s pretty special.
  3. Chris Columbus is directing. No, not the explorer, the famous director who you might remember from Home Alone, Mrs. Doubtfire, and even the first two Harry Potter movies. In other words, you know The Christmas Chronicles 2 is about to be next level amazing. “There’s a tremendous amount of respect there and a tremendous amount of love and trust, partially because they’ve been together for so long,” Columbus told PEOPLE about the experience of working with Hawn and Russell. “They just get along beautifully.”
  4. Unfortunately, the movie won’t be out until next year. While there’s no definitive release date yet, we can look forward to seeing The Christmas Chronicles 2 hit Netflix somewhere around the holiday season in 2020. I know it seems like an eternity, but don’t worry, it’ll be worth it.
