Netflix’s ‘Lucifer’ Season 6 Has Officially Started Filming Netflix

Good news, ladies (and gents!): Netflix’s Lucifer has started filming Season 6. In August, the first half of Season 5 was released, but there was no release date given for the second chunk of episodes as the coronavirus pandemic delayed production on the show. However, it’s since been revealed that not only is Season 5 complete, but they’ve made a start on the sixth and final season as well.

  1. Filming kicked off again in September. And it seems like they’ve made pretty good progress as they’ve wrapped up Season 5 (which was admittedly “astonishingly close” to completion before production was halted, to be fair!) and already moved on to the next in less than a month’s time. Pretty impressive!
  2. Showrunner Joe Henderson announced the Season 6 start on Twitter. “Today is our first day of shooting #Lucifer season 6! So happy we’ve finished up season 5, and we will be working our buns off to get it finished and to Netflix! Thanks to our incredible cast and crew for working hard and safe and delivering a kickass finale!!” he wrote in a tweet on October 6.
  3. Sadly, we still don’t know when we’ll get new Lucifer. While it’s good to know that Season 5 is wrapped and that means we’re inevitably closer to getting to see the rest of the episodes, there’s still no specific release date set, especially since it’ll have to go through post-production and editing before they’re truly ready. Ugh, hurry up!
  4. Here’s hoping we’re reunited with Lucifer soon. In the meantime, we can always go back to watch the first half of Season 5 to refresh our memory. There’s plenty of eye candy to hold us over in the meantime!
