Netflix Has Officially Started Working On ‘You’ Season 3, But Will Joe Finally Get Caught? Netflix

In case you’ve somehow been living under a rock and have missed out entirely on the phenomenon that is Netflix’s thriller series You, I’ll give you a quick synopsis: Penn Badgley stars as Joe Goldberg, a psychopath who obsessively stalks and ultimately murders (or attempts to murder) women, with very few exceptions. It’s horrible and disturbing and incredibly addicting, and thankfully, Season 3 seems to be well underway.

  1. The show was renewed for a third season last month. Netflix announced that You would be returning for Season 3 (as if it was ever a question) via Twitter last month, so we already knew it would be coming at some point. However, I don’t think anyone realized work would begin on the new episodes quite so soon!
  2. One of the producers spilled the beans on their progress. Sera Gamble, one of You‘s executive producers, took to social media on Friday to post a photo of shoes (presumably hers) in front of a welcome mat that says “hello YOU” and a message that read, “We’ve started work on season 3. Just thought you’d want to know.”
  3. People are, perhaps unsurprisingly, freaking out. “OMG I LOVE YOU I’M SO HAPPY,” one Twitter user replied. Another added, “Can’t wait to see the story you guys cook up. I know its gonna be epic.” For people who really love You, knowing that Season 3 is underway is pretty exciting news, after all.
  4. Of course, there’s still no official release date. Just because production on You Season 3 has started doesn’t mean we’ll be getting new episodes anytime soon. It’s still early days and given that Season 2 only premiere on Netflix in December, chances are there’s still a long wait ahead. But hey, at least we know it’s coming?
  5. Hopefully, Joe gets his comeuppance next season. Season 3 of You needs to be the season that Joe gets what’s coming to him. He can’t just continue to stalk, harass, and kill women and just get away with it for 10 more seasons, right? The show is probably over once he gets caught, but I think I’m ready for it to happen.
