Beautiful Osiria Roses Grow With Both Red And White Petals

Roses are pretty much the most romantic flower on the planet. We can all agree on that, right? They come in a variety of colors, from the classic red to pink, yellow, and even rainbow shades. However, Osiria roses, which grow petals that are naturally both white and red, just may be the most beautiful variety of all.

  1. Yes, they really exist. While Osiria roses may look like the product of Photoshop, they actually are the real deal. In fact, according to GardeningKnowHow, they’re hybrid tea roses that were hybridized by Mr. Reimer Kordes of Germany in 1978 and later introduced to France as Osiria. Pretty cool, huh?
  2. The leaves are a really vibrant red. They’re described as “fire engine” or “cherry” red, which is an incredibly vibrant shade, though you will likely come across some enhanced photos on social media which make them even more intense than they truly are. The undersides are a creamy white, which lends to an amazing effect.
  3. Osiria roses smell incredible. This variety of rose is particularly fragrant, so if you love the smell of roses, this is the one for you. The scent combined with the color is what makes them a particularly perfect choice for romantic bouquets, hint hint.
  4. They can be a bit hard to come by. Admittedly, most local garden centers and flower shops don’t normally stock Osiria roses, so you may have to go to a bit more effort if you want to get a hold of them. While you can grab seeds online, the quality may be questionable and they may not sprout, so you may have to get a hold of a specialist horticulturist for quality blooms.
  5. If you can’t find Osiria roses, there are other equally beautiful varieties. It might be slightly easier to get a hold of Gemini roses or Nostalgie roses, so keep an eye out for those too.
