Parents Arrested For Hog-Tying 12-Year-Old Son To Keep Him From Eating Candy

An Ohio couple was arrested and taken into custody after their 12-year-old son was found hog tied in a hotel room. Jason and Tabetha Sosnowicz were at the Baymont hotel in Northwood on July 22 when police received a call that a child may have been tied up in one of the rooms. When they arrived, they discovered that was indeed the case, WTOL reports.

  1. Police found the boy still tied up. The pre-teen had his wrists tied together behind his back with shoestrings. His wrists were tied to his ankles. Only Jason, the boy’s stepfather, was present when the child was found, though Tabetha arrived soon after.
  2. The child had been tied up for more than nine hours. His parents told officers that they regularly tie their son up overnight to keep him from eating candy while they slept. Officers say the boy was first tied up at 3:30 a.m. and was still tied at 12:30 p.m.
  3. Jason and Tabetha Sosnowicz were arrested and booked. They’re being charged with endangering children, which is a third-degree felony. They’re due in court on Thursday for a preliminary hearing. Jason is being held on $75,000 bond while Tabetha is being held on $25,000 bond.
  4. Hopefully, their son has been taken somewhere safe. Not only was the parents’ excuse flimsy and a total lie, but there’s also zero excuse for ever hog-tying your child up for any length of time. Here’s hoping the boy is now somewhere safe and never has to go back to the Sosnowiczes again.
