‘Parks And Recreation’ Is Returning For A One-Off Charity Episode To Ease Your Quarantine Woes NBC

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been missing my favorite Pawnee residents for way too long — since approximately February 15, 2015, to be exact. If you feel like me, you’ll be glad to know that Parks and Recreation is airing one-off charity episode at the end of this month and frankly, I can’t wait.

  1. No one is better equipped to deal with a global health crisis than Leslie Knope. I mean, even creator Mike Schur told Vulture that Leslie would be a superstar since she “would’ve known the CDC protocols for social distancing already.” Well, duh!
  2. The one-off charity episode will focus on the current crisis. Schur revealed that the half-hour charity episode of Parks and Recreation will see Leslie “in touch with all her friends and colleagues as they social distance.” We don’t know much of the plot beyond that, but I don’t care what it’s about — I just want to see everyone again.
  3. All of your favorite Parks and Recreation stars will be back. A charity episode is the perfect excuse to get everyone back together, and you can expect to see everyone from Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones to Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott, Rob Lowe, Jim O’Heir,  and Retta too. It’s going to be amazing.
  4. The money raised will go to Feeding America. The organization is providing much-needed relief to those affected by the current health crisis who are struggling to feed themselves and their families. All the money raised will go towards providing food banks with vital supplies needed to help their local communities. State Farm and Subaru, who are sponsoring the episode, will each make matching donations of $150,000, while NBCUniversal and the cast and producers of Parks and Recreation are adding a total of $500,000 in matching donations to be made through May 21.
  5. This is an excellent way to give back. “Like a lot of other people, we were looking for ways to help and felt that bringing these characters back for a night could raise some money,” Schur said in a statement on Thursday, April 23. “I sent a hopeful email to the cast and they all got back to me within 45 minutes. Our old Parks and Rec team has put together one more 30-minute slice of (quarantined) Pawnee life and we hope everyone enjoys it. And donates!”
  6. Tune into the Parks and Recreation charity episode on April 30. NBC will air the special on April 30 and frankly, I’m counting down the days. It’s going to be amazing!
