When I was a kid, I used to love doing those “hidden image” books. I’d spend hours studying the image, trying to find the picture that lay beneath. Sometimes I was more successful than others, but I loved the idea that you could hide things in plain sight had that you had to be super perceptive to see what was right there in front of you. As an adult, I never do those books anymore, but sometimes little challenges like that pop up on Twitter and I can’t help but indulge. For instance, these bars are hiding a perfect picture behind, but you’ll have to be clever to find out what it is.
You can only see this optical illusion if you shake your head (I’m serious) 😂 pic.twitter.com/WhtZ1b0r4t

- Nanotech engineer Dr. Michelle Dickinson posted this one to Twitter. It didn’t take long before everyone started joining in on the fun, trying to figure out what was there (or if it was a cruel trick and there was really nothing behind it). However, there’s definitely something to see!
- The quicker you see it, the smarter you are. Apparently, if you can see the picture behind the bars within five seconds, you’re basically a genius. Go figure!
- Can’t see it yet? Here’s a tip. Apparently, if you shake your head back and forth while looking at the picture, you can see what’s hidden much more easily. I tried that and can vouch that it’s there.
- Once you see it, you can’t unsee it. While I did shake my head to see the hidden image, now I don’t have to do that when I look at the picture – I can look straight at the bars and see what’s behind. How about you?
