Prison Officer Mom Of 3 Admits To Having Sex With Inmate Who Killed His Own Baby

A mom of three who worked as a prison officer has pleaded guilty to four counts of misconduct in a public office after she carried on a sexual affair with an inmate at Albany prison on the Isle of Wight in the UK. Lauren McIntyre, 32, has 11-week-old twins and 5-year-old but had no qualms about hopping into bed with convicted killer Andrew Roberts, who murdered his former partner and his 8-month-old daughter.

  1. Roberts is serving two life sentences. He was only 22 when he was convicted for the 2003 murder of Louise L’Homme and baby Tia at their home in Rhondda, South Wales. He was sentenced to two life terms at Swansea Crown Court and has been serving his time at Albany Prison. In other words, he stood no chance of ever seeing the light of day again.
  2. McIntyre carried on the affair with Roberts over a two-month period. She admitted in court to the improper conduct, which took place between November and December 2018, leading her to willfully neglect her work duties as well as failing to report Roberts had a cell phone so that she could contact him via text message on the device.
  3. She did so many things wrong here. As if her list of offenses above weren’t enough, she also pleaded guilty to trying to allow Roberts to transfer money into her bank account and giving Roberts the number of prison officer Samuel Laidler which allowed Roberts to arrange an attack on the man. She claims her relationship with Roberts was sexual but did not include full intercourse, only “small incidents of touching,” according to The Sun.
  4. McIntyre claims she started the relationship for noble purposes. She told the court that she only got involved with Roberts in order to gather intelligence, but the prosecution disputes that claim.
  5. She’s due to be sentenced in January 2021. While she’s been given bail, she’s been told she must continue to reside at her home address until her sentencing at Isle of Wight Crown Court in January. “These are serious matters and will be dealt with appropriately,” the judge told her. It remains to be seen whether or not she will get a custodial sentence.
