Quiz: Does He Like Me As A Friend Or A Girlfriend?

Does he like me as a friend or a girlfriend? We’ve all wondered that from time to time. It can be so frustrating when you have a thing for a guy but you’re not sure if he’s on the same page. Does he only look at you in a platonic way? Does he secretly like you? Is he wondering how you feel about him just like you’re wondering how he feels about you? So many questions, never enough answers, and it definitely doesn’t help that guys are usually incredibly difficult to read. Ask yourself the following questions to gauge if your friendship is on track to turn into an actual relationship and if he sees you as just a pal.

  1. Does he stay in constant contact with you? It’s not unusual for really good friends to talk every day and pretty regularly throughout the day. It’s a bit unusual, however, for your guy friend to keep in constant contact with you throughout the day, always wanting to chit-chat or wanting updates about how your day is going and what you’re doing. If it seems like he’s always the one initiating contact with you and it’s pretty constant, it could be a sign that he likes you as more than a friend.
  2. Does he want to hang out alone? Platonic friends will often hang out in groups but if your guy friend seems to want to hang out one-on-one with you more often than not, it could be a sign that he sees you as more than just a friend. He might have the desire to go on actual dates with you. It’s possible that he just hasn’t worked out his feelings for you yet or he hasn’t gotten the courage to officially ask you out yet. If he wants to hang out with you just you a lot, there could be relationship popularity there.
  3. Does he get nervous around you? We all know that guys tend to act a little nervous whenever they have a crush. They might talk a lot or be a little quiet and shy. They might act funny around you or just be super careful in what they say and what they do. If your best guy friend tends to act a little squirrely around you, it could be because he likes you!
  4. Is he touchy-feely? A guy who has a thing for you will always look for reasons to touch you. He might always want to greet you with a hug, he might put his arm around you, or look for excuses to tickle you or play around just so that he can be physically close to you. If your guy friend seems like he’s always touching you in a playful and sweet way, it could be because he actually would rather see you as his girlfriend and has feelings of romance towards you.
  5. Does he have nicknames for you? People who are dating always have little nicknames for each other. Baby, sweetheart, honey, the names will vary but the intention is the same. People have pet names for those they feel a real fondness and liking towards. If your guy friends calls you any pet names or even if he has a funny nickname for you, even if it only makes sense to the two of you, there’s a good chance it’s because he sees you as more than a friend.
  6. Is he overly interested in your love life? A guy that likes you is always going to be wondering if you like someone else. He’s always going to think of the other men in your life as his “competition” even if he hasn’t taken the shot and asked you out yet or even expressed his feelings towards you. If you find that he always wants to know if you’re talking to someone new or seeing someone, or he seems extra curious about your dating life, there’s a good chance that he likes you as more than a friend.
  7. Does he get jealous of other guys? Sure, a guy who cares about you, even if it’s just in a platonic way, is going to care about who you’re dating because they want you to be happy. There’s a difference between caring about your love life in a big brother type of way and actually being jealous of other guys in your life. It’s pretty obvious if a guy friend is just curious or actually jealous of anyone you’re talking to or seeing. Look for the signs and you’ll know pretty quickly if he’s jealous of any boyfriends or crushes you have.
  8. Does he remember tiny details about your life? A guy who cares about you as more than a friend will be thinking about you constantly. It’ll be easy for him to remember tiny details about you and your life if he has feelings for you. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise if he brings up little things that you may have mentioned once or just very specific things about that you assume no one else notices.
  9. Is he quiet about his own love life? If your guy friend seems to stay pretty mum about his dating life or doesn’t have a dating life at all. There’s a pretty good chance that he likes you as more than a friend. Platonic friends don’t have problems talking to each other about their relationships because they’re just friends. If your guy friend likes you and he’s dating other people, he won’t want to throw that in your face.
  10. Does he constantly worry about you? Friends care about each other but guys who have deeper, more romantic feelings for you are going to care on a deeper level. They’re going to always worry about your well-being and ask you how you are constantly. If your guy friend seems to always be checking in and sincerely concerned when things are tough in your life or when you’re going through something. If he loves you and wants to be with you as more than just a friend, he’s always going to be thinking about how he can make your life better.
