Rae The Unicorn Dog Has One Ear In The Middle Of Her Head And She’s Perfect

All animals are precious and perfect just as they are, even those with disabilities or qualities that make them different than “normal” pets. Rae the golden retriever suffered an injury at birth that left her with only her right ear, and as she grew bigger, that ear migrated to the top of her head. Now she looks like an adorable unicorn dog and everyone is falling in love with her.

  1. She’s a burgeoning Instagram star. Rae the unicorn dog only joined Instagram on February 26 and in just a few weeks, she’s already gained nearly 35,000 followers. Everyone loves Rae and her glorious self. She’s a happy, healthy pup who doesn’t mind her funny ear placement, so why should anyone else?
  2. The comments are proof: Rae is perfection. Despite only having 22 posts on the account, the comments are continuously pouring in from fans around the world who just can’t get enough of this adorable little unicorn pup. She’s been dubbed a “unipupper” by one fan, while another described her page as “easily my favorite account” and “a prime example of how beauty is in the soul, not just appearance.” So true!
  3. It’s unclear what the accident was that led to Rae’s ear being removed. However, it was suggested via several of the comments that Rae’s mom (her dog mom, that is) played with her a little too roughly when she was tiny, leading to the ear needing to be removed. Whatever caused it, it clearly hasn’t bothered her at all. In fact, it’s only made her more special. Have you ever seen a unicorn dog before? I haven’t—well, not before Rae, anyway!
  4. I can’t wait to see more of her as she grows up. Hopefully her parents keep fans updated on all her adventures as she continues to grow because I’m already in love with Rae the unicorn dog.
