This Artist Uses Real Baby Succulents On Her Clients’ Nail Designs That Can Be Planted After They’re Removed

There are some incredible nail artists out there coming up with unique, beautiful, and sometimes outrageous designs. However, Australian botanical artist Roz Borg has changed the whole damn game by using real baby succulents on her clients’ nails that can even be planted once you’re done wearing them. Have you ever seen anything so cool?!

  1. Roz Borg loves working with succulents. She’s created some incredible arrangements, terrariums, and even jewelry, but she’d never seen succulents used on nails so she decided to try something new. “I had been making real succulent jewelry and wanted to use the same application on something I had never seen baby succulents used on before,” she told The Huffington Post. “I Googled it and didn’t get any hits on anything, so I went for it.”
  2. She uses special floral glue to preserve the succulents. Because the baby succulents in the looks she creates are real, she takes care when attaching the plants to the fake nails, using a special floral adhesive called Oasis. From there, she uses nail glue to attach the fake nail to the real one of the person wearing the succulent nails.
  3. It takes a long time to put such an amazing look together. Succulent nails look incredible and that’s because it takes time — roughly an hour per hand. It’s hard work, but considering the results, totally worth it, I’d say. “People are stunned when they realize it’s real live plants, not 3D sculpting,” Borg said. “Some people are grossed out, but most love it!”
  4. The succulents can even be planted after they’ve been worn! Because of the care Borg takes when creating the succulent nails, the plants are preserved and can be planted so they can continue to grow after the wearer is done with them! “The oasis glue eventually releases and I can plant the baby succulents and they can grow happily. It’s definitely a temporary green thumb,” Borg said. Talk about the coolest look ever.
