I don’t know about you, but it seems like forever since I’ve been on a real vacation. There’s obviously a reason for this: staying safe and avoiding spreading coronavirus is incredibly important. However, it does still really suck not to be able to get away from it all, at least temporarily. That being said, if you and five friends can self-isolate for two weeks, you can rent a private island in Florida to stay on for only $50 a night. That sounds like heaven right about now!

  1. Hotels.com is offering up “Friendsgiving Island” this November. No, this isn’t an ad for Hotels.com (though I have booked many a room through them over the years and I think they’re pretty great) – they just happen to be the ones offering up the private island off the coast of Marathon, Florida next month, just in time for Friendsgiving.
  2. The island is only open between November 14 and 21. Friendsgiving Island will be opened up by Hotels.com for the week before Christmas for up to six friends. If you’re lucky enough to stay in the vacation house there, you’ll be treated to a three-bedroom, two-bathroom luxury accommodation (5,000 square feet!) with its own pool, plus loads of kayaks, paddleboats, and even a helicopter pad you can use while there!
  3. You don’t even have to cook your own meals! Thankfully, it seems Hotels.com has thought of everything to make your island stay the best it can possibly be. To that end, they’ve hired a private chef to come in and cook for the guests, “so you can eat, drink and be thankful without having to worry about who will cook the turkey.” Sounds like a plan!
  4. It’s not cheap, but split amongst friends, it’s doable. The price for a week-long stay on Friendsgiving Island is an eye-watering $9,800 a week at most times. However, for this particular week only, it’s going for $2,000. With five friends at your side, you’re looking at $286 per person for the week or $47 a night. Where else are you going to stay for that?!
  5. Reservations open TODAY at 10 a.m. EST. It’s being let on a first come, first served basis so you’ll have to be quick. You can try to book HERE.
