10-Year-Old Boy Cleverly Escapes Woman Following Him Home From School ABC 6

A 10-year-old Pennsylvania boy used some quick and clever thinking to get away from a woman who followed him home from school. Sammy Green from Pottstown avoided a possible kidnapping by heading in to one of his favorite stores. That decision may well have saved his life.

  1. Sammy ran into Danie Bee Funky to escape the woman. Noticing that he was being followed, he ducked into the shop to throw her off. Surveillance footage shows the woman standing at the door of the shop looking in on Sammy.
  2. His dad talked to WPVI about his son’s scary experience. Sam Green said that the woman claimed to know Sammy and tried to lure him away to potentially kidnap him. “(The woman) started walking with him and asking him where his family was, asking where his dad was,” the older man said. “She said she probably knew me and was going to Wawa and that he was supposed to go with her and he could get anything he wanted.” Sam added that neither he nor his son know the woman.
  3. Sammy asked the cashier to pretend she was his mom. In an attempt to find safety, 17-year-old cashier Hannah Daniels said Sammy asked her to pretend to be his parent. “He was like, ‘Pretend like you’re my mom,'” Hannah said, “and I was just like, ‘all right go to the back.’ He didn’t want to leave my side,” she told CBS. The woman following Sammy then decided to run away.
  4. The Pottsdown Police Department have found the woman in question. It’s unclear whether or not they believe she was thinking of kidnapping Sammy Green. However, they have referred her for “mental health services,” per WPVI.
