Sir Sean Connery, the legendary actor who once portrayed James Bond in the eponymous spy spies, has passed away at the age of 90. His family reported that he died in his sleep while in the Bahamas. While it’s unclear what his particular health issues are, BBC News reports that Connery had been unwell in recent years.

  1. Connery had a wonderfully full career. While arguably his most popular role was that of James Bond, he also appeared in other noteworthy films including Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Hunt for Red October, and many more.
  2. His work was celebrated by his Hollywood peers. Connery was the recipient of three Golden Globe awards, an Oscar, and even two Baftas.
  3. Even the Queen recognized his talent and contribution to the arts. She knighted Connery at Holyrood Palace back in 2000, making him an official Sir.
  4. Connery celebrated his 90th birthday in August 2020. While he unfortunately didn’t make it to his 91st birthday, his body of work will inspire actors and fans for generations to come. May he rest in peace.
