Son Climbs Over Hospital Wall Every Day To Be With His Dying Mother

A 30-year-old man would stop at nothing to see his dying mother who was in the hospital dying of coronavirus. Mr. Al-Suwaiti, from Hebron in Palestine, was unable to visit his mom due to her illness, so he decided to climb the hospital walls to ensure the elderly woman was never left on her own.

  1. He could at least speak to his mom through the window. Climbing up to the window of the room where his mother was staying was a harrowing feat that took a lot of strength as well as bravery. It just goes to show how much Mr. Al-Suwaiti loves and cares for his mom.
  2. She must have found so much comfort from his presence. While sitting on the window sill with a sheer drop outside must have been less than ideal, it was the only option for Mr. Al-Suwaiti and his mom to be able to talk to one another safely while she was there. He was even able to watch over her while she slept.
  3. He never left his side. According to Astro Awani, a doctor at the hospital said that Mr. Al-Suwaiti “spent most of his day there, observing his mother’s condition from outside the window, before coming down when he was convinced that his mother was fast asleep.”
  4. Mr. Al-Suwaiti has had trouble accepting his mom’s illness. According to his brother, the man struggled to cope with his mother’s coronavirus diagnosis as she previously battled leukemia. Dealing with an ill parent is never easy, but given her previous struggles, I can only imagine how much harder that must have hit him.
  5. Sadly, Mr. Al-Suwaiti’s mother passed away. “Our mother was also battling leukemia prior to being diagnosed with COVID-19 a few weeks ago,” his brother explained. “When [he] was informed about our mother’s death, he was angry and in shock. Now he seems to have accepted the fact.”
