Sonic Is Releasing Hard Seltzer With Flavors Inspired By Their Infamous Slush Sonic

If you’ve never had a Slush from Sonic, you’re seriously missing out. The combo of crushed ice and deliciously flavored syrups is just perfect, especially on warmer days. Well, now the fast-food chain has decided to take the classic Slush flavors and translate them into a new product: Sonic hard seltzer. I don’t know about you, but this is the best news I’ve heard all week!

  1. Two variety packs will be out later this spring. The news was first broken about Sonic’s Slush-inspired hard seltzers earlier this week on Twitter by Greg Horton, a writer for 405 Magazine. He claimed that two variety packs, Citrus and Tropical, were due for release later this spring. Turns out, he was totally right!
  2. This is the collaboration of dreams. As a Sonic rep told Thrillist via email, their hard seltzers will be hitting shelves on May 1 and are likely going to be your new favorite summer drink of choice. “SONIC Drive-In will introduce Hard Seltzer May 1, bringing SONIC’s iconic beverage flavors to a new format. In partnership with fellow Oklahoma-City based brand COOP Ale Works, SONIC Hard Seltzers will come in two different variety 12-packs: Tropical and Citrus,” the statement read. “Additional details, including distribution plans, will be announced soon. SONIC fans are encouraged to enjoy their favorite flavors in hard seltzer form responsibly. SONIC Hard Seltzers will not be available at the drive-in.”
  3. The flavors are downright delicious. After all, Sonic’s hard seltzer is inspired by its Slush flavors, so you’re looking at Lemon Berry, Cherry Limeaid, Classic Lemonade, and Original Limeaide in the Citrus pack. If Tropical is more your style, you can enjoy Orange Pineapple, Mango Guava, Melon Medley, and Ocean Water. I really don’t know which to buy first!
  4. The cans will be available in two sizes. Sonic will be selling its hard seltzer in large individual cans or in 12-packs of normal 12 oz. cans. Take your pick!
