Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, Wife Of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, has been diagnosed with coronavirus. After completing a speaking engagement in London, she began feeling unwell and experiencing flu symptoms upon return to Canada. Grégoire Trudeau was later tested for the illness with the results coming back positive, and she is now in isolation as she recovers.

  1. The follow procedures were followed. As Cameron Ahmad, communications director for the prime minster, said in a statement on Thursday, “Following medical recommendations, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau was tested for COVID-19 today. The test came back positive. Also following medical advice, she will remain in isolation for the time being. She is feeling well, is taking all recommended precautions, and her symptoms remain mild.”
  2. Justin Trudeau does not seem affected by coronavirus. At the moment, the Prime Minister seems unaffected by the illness but is continually being monitored to ensure his health. Ahmed added in his statement that Justin Trudeau “is in good health with no symptoms. As a precautionary measure and following the advice of doctors, he will be in isolation for a planned period of 14 days. Also on the advice of doctors, he will not be tested at this stage since he has no symptoms. For the same reason, doctors say there is no risk to those who have been in contact with him recently.”
  3. Sophie Grégoire Trudeau remains in high spirits. She released a personal message expressing that she would “like to say a big thank you to all those who have reached out to me asking how I’m doing. Although I’m experiencing uncomfortable symptoms of the virus, I will be back on my feet soon.” Her statement continued, “Being in quarantine at home is nothing compared to other Canadian families who might be going through this and for those facing more serious health concerns.”
  4. Hopefully she’ll be back at full health soon. More than 126,000 people around the world have been infected with coronavirus so far and that number will certainly be growing. While most people will experience minor symptoms and will recover without medical intervention, it can still be scary. Here’s hoping Trudeau and everyone else facing the illness gets better ASAP.
