Times are really tough right now and we’re all weighed down by anxiety. Luckily for them, the animal kingdom is totally unbothered by what’s happening in the world, as evidenced by this squirrel eating an egg roll in New York City. I think we should all aspire to this level of chill today and every day.
- Egg Roll Squirrel joins an illustrious list of eating animals. Remember Pizza Rat? Taco Squirrel? New York City’s wildlife is known for finding inhabitants’ discarded food and taking full advantage of the feasting opportunities. This squirrel enjoying his egg roll is only the latest example of this beautiful trend.
- This doesn’t look like this squirrel’s first egg roll. One commenter on the video, which was posted on Facebook back in January, said exactly that and I have to agree. That is one chunky squirrel. I’m not hating, just admiring his tenacity and his dedication to eating all the food he can find.
- This baby squirrel doesn’t have a care in the world. The world feels like it’s falling apart right now, but this squirrel doesn’t care. Why would he when he has a delicious fried egg roll in his paws to devour over the next few hours (or days—it’s as big as him, after all)? Hopefully another squirrel doesn’t come along and try to seal it. Or a pigeon—they can be aggressive sometimes!
- For now on, I’m channeling Egg Roll Squirrel in all I do. Even when things are crazy, I’m going to just picture myself as this fat squirrel eating Chinese takeout in blissful silence and I’m sure it’s going to immediately make me feel a lot more zen. It’ll probably also make me feel pretty hungry, but hey, I’m not complaining about that. Thanks, Egg Roll Squirrel. You’re the hero we need right now!
Oh, to be as happy as this New York City squirrel chomping on an egg roll. https://t.co/2EYqFE4bAJ
