Stephenie Meyer Is Releasing A New ‘Twilight’ Book This Year

Stephenie Meyer Is Releasing A New ‘Twilight’ Book This Year Summit Entertainment

I have no qualms in admitting that I really loved the Twilight series. Yes, it was terribly written and sent awful messages to young girls about what love is and isn’t (among other things), but it was also a really addictive read and the movies were so awfully cheesy and overdramatic that you couldn’t not love them. If you feel the same and miss it like I do, you’ll be pleased to know that Stephenie Meyer is releasing a new Twilight novel later this year!

  1. It’s called Midnight Sun. The title alone doesn’t tell you much about the book, but it isn’t necessarily “new” — Meyer’s new Twilight book was started back in 2008 but is just getting a release now after she took a long break in writing. Whatever the case, I think I speak for all of us when I say: Yaaaaaaas!
  2. Fans have already read 12 chapters of the book. Of course, Meyer wasn’t happy about this. Back when she originally began writing it, the first 12 chapters leaked online, which led her to stop the project altogether. That being said, it’s good that she’s finished it now and that Twilight fans know a little bit about what to expect from the new Twilight book.
  3. It’s told from Edward’s perspective. While the original Twilight novels were told from Bella Swan’s perspective, Midnight Sun gives the hottest 300-year-old vampire you’ve ever encountered a chance to tell a story from his own perspective. It’s a whole new world!
  4. Midnight Sun is out on August 4th. Meyer announced the release of the book during an appearance on Good Morning America on May 4, writing, “I am very excited to finally, finally announce the release of Midnight Sun on Saturday 4th August. It’s a crazy time right now and I wasn’t sure it was the right time to put this book out, but some of you have been waiting for just so so long it didn’t seem right to make you wait anymore.”
  5. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for a new Twilight book. I need to relive my youth! Is that so wrong?!
