These Succulent Cakes Are Incredibly Realistic And Almost Too Beautiful To Eat

If like me, you’re obsessed with succulents and want to surround yourself in their beauty 24/7, you’re going into lose your mind when you see these succulent cakes. Bakers are adapting the plantlife into cake form and the finished results look so perfectly realistic that they’re almost too beautiful to eat.

  1. The artistic talent here is unreal. I can barely frost a cake, let alone make any kind of intricate designs on it. (I prefer the pre-made candy stick-on letters and symbols, thank you.) The fact that bakers are capable of decorating to such a high level of accuracy is mind-blowing.
  2. The 3-D design just adds something special. The fact that succulent cakes have “plants” that rise from the surface in such a realistic way only serves to make them even more elegant and special. Anyone could draw a plant on a cake (okay, not anyone — I couldn’t!), but piping 3-D designs is just next level.
  3. The opportunities for creativity here are endless. All you need to do is check out the #succulentcake hashtag on Instagram to see just how brilliantly unique each of these cakes are. Just like real-life succulents come in different shapes, sizes, and colors, you can create the plants out of frosting on cakes in so many beautiful forms. The only limit is the cake artist’s imagination.
  4. I know what I want for my next birthday! I know this is really elaborate and getting one made is probably ridiculously expensive (and rightly so for this level of detail), but I definitely want a succulent cake for my next birthday. Or, you know, just because. There’s never a bad time for cake, and when they’re this beautiful, there’s no better time to get one.
  5. If you’re super talented, you could try to make one! If you do, make sure you post it online and tag Bolde on Instagram @bolde_media so we can see!
