Teenage Girl Who Forced 3-Year-Old Brother To Smoke A Joint Begs For Forgiveness

A Texas teen who was allegedly caught on video forcing her 3-year-old brother to smoke a joint was arrested for the act and is now begging for forgiveness. Larissa Contrera, 18 and from San Antonio, was filmed with her 19-year-old boyfriend Thomas Rey Esquivel handing the child the rolled joint, which had “CBD with THC, so weed in it,” Contrera told News 4 San Antonio. Now, she’s taking full responsibility for what she’s done and is begging for forgiveness.

  1. Contrera was high herself at the time. According to the teen, another 19-year-old man who supplied them with the drugs was the one who recorded her little brother with the joint. “The blunt was rolled, they lit it and then the passenger handed it and he hit it two to three times and then he took it away and then [the toddler] went and grabbed it back and he hit it and that’s when I got him off the car and I told him he needed to go inside,” she recalled, adding that she didn’t stop it from happening because she was high herself.
  2. The boy was coughing and being sick from the joint. The video shows the child being ill from inhaling the joint, something that makes Contrera feel incredibly guilty. “It makes me feel like ****, it makes me feel like I’m some **** up person, I feel terrible,” she said.
  3. After the video went viral online, someone alerted the Child Care Services and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. Wanting to own up to what she’d done, Contrera said she contracted CPS herself and soon after, Bexar County Sheriff’s Office came to arrest her. She’s now facing felony child endangerment charges. Authorities say they’ll likely make further arrests in the case.
  4. The child could have faced serious health problems. Giving a 3-year-old child drugs could have catastrophic effects on his health, doctors say. “If there are high doses that are inhaled or ingested, they can lead to marijuana poisoning,” explained Dr. Mandie Svatek, with UT Health. “You can have severe side effects that could end you up sending you to the emergency department.”
  5. Now, Contrera is begging for forgiveness for what she’s done. “I love you [the boy], sissy loves you and I’m sorry, I’m sorry for everything and I’m going to do better for you,” she said. “Please forgive me, please don’t hate me, please don’t, I love you.”
