The Joys Of Going Braless

If you’re the type of women who immediately removes her bra the second she get home from work, then you’re a woman who enjoys the finer things in life. Case in point: Going braless. Oh, the freedom! The satisfaction! But if you’re not the type of woman who whips that thing off the second you walk through the door, maybe you’ve just yet to experience how wonderful life can be if you take off that bra and go with it. Even as a woman with big boobs who probably needs a bra, I go braless every chance I get, because it’s the only way to really enjoy life. Screw the whole, “But your boobs will sag when you’re older!” spiel. You can worry about that later.

Here are 11 joys of going braless.

  1. You feel free. Because, of course.
  2. You get to avoid wires poking in to you. Despite the fact that I invest in really nice, well-made bras, at some point a wire escapes and I spend the whole day fighting it, hoping that I won’t go totally mad in the process.
  3. You can kiss bra dents in your skin goodbye. They are ugly little things, aren’t they? And constant reminders that you’ve been bound up all day. Be gone, bra dents!
  4. You feel like walking sex. You are so aware of your nipples… and so is everyone else. But who cares? It’s the human body. It’s awesome.
  5. You’re bucking the system. Why did some feminists burn their bras in the 1960s and 1970s? Because bras were invented by men to keep our boobs at bay. Fight the power.
  6. You can breathe better. Bras can be constricting. When you take them off you can feel yourself breathing better and deeper, like you’re sucking in all of the air around you. All of it!
  7. You don’t have to contend with the perpetual falling bra strap. Seriously. You have better things to do with your time.
  8. Certain clothing just looks better. While bras serve a purpose, certain things, like strappy summer dresses, look better without a bra. Besides, who needs a damn bra in the summer?
  9. You feel more confident. In embracing your boobs for what they are, you can’t help but feel confident about it. You’re no longer hiding behind lace and straps, but putting it all out there.
  10. You have easier access to scratching an itch. Itchy nipple? No problem. Just reach on up there and scratch without fighting a bra to do so.
  11. You’re taking control of your body again. No matter your boob size, you shouldn’t have to feel like you need to wear a bra. Who even decided this was a mandatory thing? Probably a dude. Also, did I mention you feel free? Like REALLY free? So free! Like you can just fly
