Car Thief Caught Hiding From Police Inside Giant Teddy Bear

Car Thief Caught Hiding From Police Inside Giant Teddy Bear Greater Manchester Police

Police in England were shocked to find an 18-year-old car thief hiding inside a giant teddy bear. Joshua Dobson, from Rochdale, stole a Mistubishi ASX and failed to pay for gas in the vehicle in May and had been on the run ever since. However, Greater Manchester Police eventually caught up with him in the least likely of places.

  1. The police were searching Dobson’s home at the time of the discovery. During their search, they noticed a giant teddy bear “breathing” in a corner. As it turns out, Dobson had ripped the bottom out of the bear and climbed inside to evade police. They eventually got him out and arrested him.
  2. GMP Rochdale shared the bizarre capture on social media. “A wanted car thief who tried using a teddy bear to hide from our neighborhood cops out looking for him last month has been put behind bars for nine months,” they wrote.
  3. While Dobson’s plan was creative, it wasn’t very well thought out. The force continued in their statement: “When we went to arrest him, our officers noticed a large bear breathing in the address before finding Dobson hidden inside.”
  4. The puns just keep on coming! GMP Rochdale brought the bear puns out in full force as they shared that Dobson had been sentenced in court the previous week. “He’s now stuffed behind bars after being sentenced last week for theft of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, and making off from a petrol station without payment,” they quipped. “Hopefully, he has a bearable time inside…”
