Sex is a biological imperative, especially for animals. They have no higher consciousness, so they operate purely on instinct, and one of those instincts is to get laid. It’s not optional; it’s powerful and all-consuming, so much so that this Bengal tiger walked more than 1,000 miles for someone to get its rocks off with.
- He’s being tracked via radio collar. The 2-year-old male known as TWLS-T1-C1 (that’s a mouthful) left the Tipeshwar Wildlife Sanctuary in Yavatmal district of Vidarbha back in June 2019, fitted with a collar that basically worked as a GPS unit.
- He just keeps walking… About five months into his journey, the tiger had walked about 800 miles. Now, two months later, the data shows that C1 has clearly been hitting his daily step goals because he’s now walked more than 1,000 miles, according to Unilad.
- So where’s he going? Pench Tiger Reserve (PTR) Field Director Ravikiran Govekar is also the head of the Tipeshwar Sanctuary where the tiger is from, and he told The Indian Express that he’s basically going on a grand tour of the country, hitting more than 5,000 locations during his journey. “After traveling up to Soygaon beyond Ajanta Hills, the tiger had started moving back to Dnyanganga and reached there on Friday,” Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Wildlife) Nitin Kakodkar said.
- He’s getting his needs met (or at least trying). Researchers still aren’t ultimately sure what the tiger is up to, though they assume it’s all about finding a mate. After all, the animal has three particular needs: food, shelter, and sex. As Kakodkar explained, “We thought this epic journey could be for a mate. But is that the real intent? We don’t know yet. If he would be looking for a mate, he could have further moved towards Muktainagar In Jalgaon distinct, where there are few but it preferred to return to Dnyanganga.”
- Sometimes it’s a struggle to get laid. Bilal Habib from the Sector Wildlife Institute of India has been following the tiger’s journey and is all but convinced that this is all about getting laid for the tiger. “It is likely there might have been some females in areas he has so far moved but those territories could already have been occupied by some dominant males. So, it is perhaps finding it difficult to get territory and mate both at one go,” he said. Let’s hope C1 finds what he’s looking for soon!
