‘Toffee’ Roses Exist And Brown Flowers Have Never Been So Beautiful

Roses are undoubtedly one of the most popular flowers, and for good reason: they’re beautiful and they smell amazing. From red to white to pink, they’re romantic and picturesque… but also super common. However, there’s a new shade of rose on the block to switch things up. Brown roses, dubbed Toffee roses, are stunning and just might take over the flower game.

  1. Brown flowers usually aren’t seen as desirable. Generally speaking, when flowers start to go brown, that’s the biggest signal that they’re ready to be thrown out since they’re dead. Not so with these brown roses, which are beautifully tanned and just so unique.
  2. Unfortunately, they’re not very easy to find. According to Flowers by Janie, Toffee roses are native to South America and are only just coming over to the States. While wedding florists and flower enthusiasts are excited about them, hunting some down might be a bit difficult at the moment.
  3. Check with your local florists and if all else fails, hit up the internet. You can buy 25 Toffee roses online for $66.25 from Potomac Floral, based in Maryland, if you don’t manage to track any down in person. Choice Farms in Seattle, Washington also carries them. They’re incredibly rare but something tells me we might be seeing them pop up in more locations as we get closer to spring.
  4. You can even buy artificial toffee roses. The advantage of this is that they last forever and they’re somewhat easier to get a hold of on Etsy. While they’re not quite as beautiful and magical as the real thing, artificial toffee roses are a bit cheaper, so it all depends on what you’re looking for.
  5. Bottom line? Toffee roses are here to stay. I don’t have any weddings or other special occasions coming up, but you can bet if I did, I would be trying to hunt some of these down. Hell, I’d like to just have some in a vase in my living room.
