WARNING: EMBEDDED VIDEO IS NOT FOR SENSITIVE VIEWERS

A tourist tragically passed away after losing an arm and leg in a shark attack at a popular resort in Egypt. The 68-year-old Austrian woman is said to have died in an ambulance from “shock” after the fatal Dead Sea incident at Sahl Hasheesh.

  1. Much of the encounter was caught on video. The clip shows her trying to swim back to shore after “losing an arm and leg.” Russian tourists complained about the lack of lifeguards and rescuers on the scene to help. No one entered the water to help her.
  2. One witness described the horrifying scenes. “People are rushing out of the sea. There’s no ambulance, there’s no one helping her,” they said. “She’s got no arm – up to her elbow. The shark grabbed her and twisted her around.”
  3. The woman did make it to shore but passed away shortly after. One source said: “Doctors fought for her life for a long time, giving her cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but she could not be saved.” All water activities from the area was banned for three days following the attack
