When a guy treats you like you’re special when you first begin dating, it’s hard to take it seriously. After all, most of the time, he gets lazy once you’re a few months in — really lazy — so there’s really no sense in getting used to it, right? Wrong. If he takes you for granted and treats you like you’re just any ordinary girl, here’s why you should get rid of that fool:
- You’re awesome. You should never, ever waste a minute of your life with a guy who does not know and appreciate it. Make sure you end up with someone who thinks you’re the bomb and who you just adore in return. You’re a beautiful, amazing human being. Don’t settle for anyone who doesn’t see it.
- He should be grateful every day to have you in his life. This is essential. If he doesn’t understand and value you in all your unique, individual glory, he doesn’t deserve you at all. Don’t be with a guy who thinks you’re just another in a long line of chicks he’s gonna lay and disregard. You’re better than that.
- He should always let you know that he’s aware how lucky he is. You should be with a man who tells you every day how beautiful and wonderful you are. You should be with a guy who’s obviously grateful to be with you — one who’s not ashamed or afraid to demonstrate that often, loudly and enthusiastically.
- He should never take you for granted. This is the worst, and it happens all the time. Guys get lazy and comfortable and assume you’ll always be around no matter what. They lose their manners and stop treating you like the prize you are. Always remember that — you are the prize. That guy is damn lucky to have you, and if he doesn’t know it, find someone who does.
- If he thinks there’s something better around the corner, he can go find it. He’s an idiot. He’s too busy looking for the next best thing to see the greatness right in front of his face. Once he realizes there’s actually nothing better around, it’ll be too late. You’ll be long gone, and rightfully so.
- If he thinks he deserves better, he doesn’t deserve anyone. What the hell is this crap? Why is he even with you if he thinks you’re so ordinary and boring? This guy has another thing coming, that’s for sure. He’ll find out much too late that you were the best thing that ever happened to him. His stupid ego will get him absolutely nowhere.
- It’s the little things that count, so make sure he does them. Those tiny, everyday gestures that remind you that he still cares — that’s what you want. That’s what matters. It’s not some grand present once a year while he ignores you and steps on your feelings the rest of the time. It’s about the sweet stuff that he does every single day; it’s about him making sure you know that he thinks you’re the most amazing woman on this earth. This is the guy you want. Anything less is not worth it.
