A naked California woman who was wedged into an 8-inch space between two buildings was freed by firefighters after a nearly three-hour rescue mission. Concerned citizens around N. Harbor Boulevard in Santa Ana called 911 after they heard the woman crying for help for more than 30 minutes, KTLA reports.

- It was unclear how long she’d been there when help finally arrived. The unnamed woman had become wedged between the walls of an auto body shop and a car stereo store and it was unclear how long she’d been there when employees heard her crying for help around 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Not long after, the Santa Ana Police Department arrived on the scene, followed by the Ocean County Fire Authority.
- It took nearly three hours to free her. At first, the firefighters could barely see the woman, and they certainly couldn’t get her out. Instead, they had to drill a hole through a nearby concrete wall and insert a camera to see if they’d be able to cut her out. That plan eventually worked and she was freed.
- She was awake and alert the entire time. Thankfully, the woman remained conscious the entire time and seemed to be able to communicate with rescuers throughout the ordeal. She was taken to a local hospital to be assessed but seemed to be okay.
- No one knows how she got there. This isn’t something you see every day, clearly, but there’s still no explanation as to how a naked woman got wedged between two walls. “We heard a lady in the back, behind our shop, screaming, screaming, screaming,” said the owner of one of the shops. “We called the cops and the cops came in and got on the roof and looked between the two walls and she’s all naked. She was in pain. She was screaming in pain. She was upside down too.” Some things defy explanation!
