Resurfaced Video Sees Tom Cruise Saluting Dead Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard

A recently resurfaced video shows Tom Cruise paying tribute to dead Scientology founder L Ron Hubbard. Wearing the Medal of Valor he received for performing humanitarian work, he praises Scientology for saving the world and rallies supporters of the religion. Needless to say, it’s slightly creepy.

  1. Cruise truly believes Scientology is changing life as we know it. “These are the times, people. These are the times we will all remember. Were you there? What did ya do?” he says in the clip. “I think you know that I am there for you, and I do care so very, very, very much. So what d’ya say? Are we gonna clean this place up?”
  2. Tom Cruise then turns to salute a portrait of L Ron Hubbard. After making his impassioned plea to his fellow Scientologists, Cruise turns and salutes the picture and receives a standing ovation in return.
  3. The video was first uploaded in 2008. In the past 14 years, it’s been watched over a million times. However, it recently garnered renewed attention after being posted on Reddit. “This is like a Tupperware sales leader award ceremony from the planet Xenon,” one person commented. “Scientology teaches you that if you really want to connect with people when making a speech then play an invisible piano.”
  4. Tom Cruise will always love Scientology. And with the Hollywood actor as the face of the “brand,” so to speak, he’s a precious commodity they’ll do anything to protect and please. Lest we forget how quickly the Church of Scientology disposed of Mimi Rogers, Cruise’s first wife, so that he could date and marry Nicole Kidman.
