Vietnamese Factory Busted For Allegedly Washing & Reselling 320,000 Used Condoms

Vietnamese police have allegedly shut down a factory in the south of the country after it was discovered that they were washing and reselling more than 320,000 used condoms, according to Vietnam Insider. Pham Thi Thanh Ngoc, 32, is said to have had 1,000 delivered to the factory in Tan Uyen Town every month where she washed and “reshaped” them before selling them on.

  1. Pham really went all out. According to reports, Pham rented the facility at which she used a wooden shaft to reshape the condoms and then put them in new packaging to make it look as if they were fresh. She is believed to have resold thousands before police caught on and shut down the operation.
  2. Police apparently seized more than 324,000 repackaged condoms. Just think about how many people may have bought those without knowing and how many diseases could have resulted in this irresponsible and downright nefarious practice.
  3. Authorities are looking in what crimes Pham should be charged with. According to VN Explorer, Pham is guilty of multiple offenses and police are carefully deciding what to charge her with. “Condoms are classified as medical items, so we will take a look at the several laws that the owner has broken,” a government official is reported to have told the news outlet.
  4. Something tells me this isn’t the only operation like this out there. Here’s hoping more are caught and shut down ASAP!
